Your Journey to Better Health Starts With Plants
What is Whole Foods Plant-Based Nutrition (WFPBN)?
WFPBN is eating plant foods in their unrefined, unprocessed, whole form. The term “unprocessed” means none of the original properties have been taken out and no additives, preservatives, or chemical ingredients added. For example, eating whole apples with their skin intact (or oranges with their pulp) instead of consuming the juice alone.
What are the benefits of eating Whole-Foods Plant-Based Nutrition (WFPBN) and Why should I consider it?
There is only one diet proven to prevent, treat and reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure – that is a diet centered around whole-plant foods. Yet, many physicians get little, if any, formal training about WFPBN and how it can stop chronic diseases, which remain our leading cause of death and disability. This is well illustrated in this presentation on the “Role of Diet in Preventing, Arresting & Reversing Our Top 15 Killers” by Dr Michael Greger, MD, FACLM wherein published medical studies show how we can combat disabling diseases with WFPBN.
Dr Caldwell Esselsstyn displayed similar findings in his landmark study titled, “Resolving the Coronary Artery Disease Epidemic through Plant-Based Nutrition” wherein he showed the reversal of established coronary artery disease when patients were put on a whole-foods plant-based diet for 32 months without any lipid-lowering agents. Repeat angiograms were done that showed the expansion of affected coronary arteries and improvement in blood flow – without any cardiovascular intervention such as stenting.
Dr Greger, MD, FACLM further explains in this video how Type 2 diabetes and hypertension can be treated and reversed simply by eating healthier using whole-plant foods.

The Game Changers is an entertaining and informative Netflix documentary that follows former UFC fighter James Wilkes on his journey to seek answers to his question of what is the optimal diet for athletes? On his quest, he meets with and interviews cutting-edge scientists, various elite athletes, and even a World’s Strongest Man, Wilkes who turns to a plant-based diet and sees results in his own life. In a world obsessed with protein where the underlying belief is that meat is thought to equate to strength, this film demonstrates how truly powerful plants can truly be. Produced by James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan and others.

Is WFPBN the same as a Vegan Diet?
No. WFPBN is centered around plant foods in their whole form – unprocessed (nothing taken away, nothing added). A Vegan diet is any food that is non-animal based and many include processed foods (not always in their whole form). For example, Vegan cookies are made without using any animal products but they are not centered around plant foods. The healthiest diet and lifestyle is one that is whole food, plant-based as evidenced by these published studies in the medical literature.
